The new 200,000 s.f. Marengo Community High School, sited in the heart of the city and adjacent to the existing early 1900s high school, will invariably become an integral part of this historical and rapidly growing Mid-western communitys identity by creating an invaluable, cohesive district campus. The gabled, two-story academic atrium can simply be defined as the heart of the school. The academic wing houses: 52 technology-enhanced classrooms, administrative and student services, media center, vocational technology department and seven state of the art science laboratories. In the activities wing, the multi-functional cafeteria commons area serves both the 2000-seat capacity performance gymnasium with supporting athletic spaces as well as the 450-seat auditorium and music wing.
