American Heart's National Headquarters building consists of a 3-story structure of approximately 66,000 square feet providing a reception area, offices, cafeteria and access to the parking structure. Later, part of the headquarters building was converted into a conference center including a 75-person lecture theatre, a telecommunications center, meeting rooms, visiting lecturer's offices and a warming kitchen for catering support. A pedestrian walkway was added to link the two areas and to provide access to a central courtyard. In 1986 a Material Resource Center was built which produces and ships more than 30 million pieces of American Heart Association literature annually.
