At just 2100 sf, this private retreat, located on the prestigious Biltmore Circle in Phoenix Az, boasts of exquisite design and elegant finishes. Trimmed throughout in black sparkling granite, cherry wood with lots of copper, stainless steel and leather, this sophisticated, high tech showcase has many tricks and treats to delight ones senses.

You are welcomed into this jewel awaiting at the end of the architect designed garden pathway; flanked by waterfalls, towering plants and koi pools with meandering streams. Against the main outide curved wall, and forming a 'grand view', is a large stone and plants water feature gurgling up from the rocks & spilling down left & right into two tranquil koi ponds. Overhead there are the large overhanging fabric sun shaders, stretched taught by steel aircraft cable and wrapped around internally illuminated 3"dia. polycarbonate light tubes, providing a soft, evening illumination emanating from within these fabric webs. These canopies are supported by giant cantilevered glu-lam beams, decoratively trimmed with 8" dia. copper spheres snug in place at the ends of each outstretched beam.

Once past the custom designed mahogany & bevel glass entry doors, an incredible sweeping curvaceous great room opens up, revealing a beautiful copper and granite boomerang shaped wet bar, giant round sky light and high tech, low voltage art lighting on multi-channel preset scene controller. Located above the 42" gas fireplace is a commissioned art painting that actually opens up to reveal a big screen tv behind! In the corner rises a stainless steel, slate & leather spiral stair leading up to a redwood roof deck.

From this grand room there is a step up to an overlooking billiards room with a 7'x12' lift off custom conference table made of cherry and birds eye maple, black suede and copper. In another room awaits a large office space with its own smaller wet bar, refrigerator, custom 7' desk and lots of built in bookcases. From here there is a passage into a full sized bathroom with custom counter tops and large 6 head body spray shower with its own water fall over head! From here, slip through a custom 9'tall oval doorway into a secondary private office. Here you'll find a custom built cherry and maple wall unit that converts into a king sized bed, but is disguised to look like a book case! There is an electrically operated drop down tv concealed in the ceiling and a round corner fire place set against the "radiating sun" window which overlooks out into a morning flagstone sitting area next to the koi pond & water features.

On this house I was the Architect and the Builder and designed all of the interior furnishings, wet bar, murphy bed, spiral stair, conference table and bookcases etc. Then I had the challenge to get it all built and complete in about 14 months.

This beautiful getaway was featured in the feb. 1999 Phoenix Home and garden Magazine under the Glorious Guest Quarters, was on the cover of a turkish international architecure magazine, published in a hard cover design book and in several other magazines and has received tremendous recognition and appraise.
