The “Building Blocks” daycare center concept directed the design from the onset, resulting in many playful elements which were incorporated into the facility. Crayon columns greet students and visitors in the lobby and a small village scale courtyard was designed for outdoor activities. A multi-purpose area acts as a meeting, lunch overflow, and indoor activity area during inclement weather. The playful theme is also applied to the exterior by using dramatic shades of brick color and coordinated gutters, down spouts, and window frames.
