Upon its completion in mid-2001, the Kansas City Public Library’s new Plaza branch will mark the culmination of an innovative public-private partnership. The facility, which in its entirety will be known as the Library Plaza, will include not only the public library’s newest branch but also retail and office space. The library will occupy the first two stories of the complex and will include a special children’s area, exhibit space, meeting rooms, and a 350-seat auditorium, as well as housing the library branch’s collection of materials.
