In collaboration with Louisiana State University, state and city governments, and local arts organizations, the Shaw Center is designed to be a "lantern on the levee," uniting the city with the University. The new building houses a museum of art, restaurant, and two theaters. The renovated structure contains studio art spaces, offices, and classrooms for the LSU School of Art.
